BLUES SOLOING

(Photo by Sean McMullen) When I was learning to play the guitar I would hear people soloing two different ways. One way was to wail away on a scale very fast with little feel, which was pretty impressive to me then. The other way was to outline chord changes. I much prefer the second method. Guitar players like Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Lightning Hopkins, or any jazz player use this method. As a guitar player you want to hear chord changes in your solo even when there are no back ground players to support you. Now you can learn how!
