pic: mackyphoto.co.uk Graduating high school, Scott Reeder moved to Burbank and briefly studied with Eric Singer (KISS/Alice Cooper/Lita Ford/Tony Iommi) and Rick Steel. In late 1992 he met Mike Rosas and Aaron Sonnenberg to form the power trio SMILE. In 1993 they released their first 7 inch RESIN and began playing shows locally and amassing material for their first full length album MAQUEE released in the fall of 1994 on San Diego label CARGO/HEADHUNTER. The album was re-mastered and picked --up for re-release by Atlantic Records in the summer of 1994. They had modest radio hits on KROQ and 91 X with songs such as STARING AT THE SUN and INSTANT BRAIN DAMAGE. In 2001 Scott joined the band FU MANCHU to support their new release CALIFORNIA CROSSING. The ensuing tour took them to 17 countries worldwide over 6 months, from America to Canada, to Australia to Athens, Greece. The tour yielded the double live album GO FOR IT …LIVE! , recorded in Sweden, Los Angeles and Chicago. Scott was then asked and became an official endorser of LUDWIG DRUMS/SABIAN CYMBALS and EVANS DRUM HEADS, associations he still holds today. In summer 2003 they toured Europe in support of GO FOR IT …LIVE! playing to their largest crowd ever of 60,000 fans in Roskilde, Denmark. In 2004 they were asked by MONSTER GARAGE star and custom motorcycle maker Jesse James to do the music for his upcoming Discovery Channel movie MOTORCYCLE MANIA 3. In late February 2007, FU MANCHU released WE MUST OBEY and set out on a year long 125 date tour of America and Europe. The music from WE MUST OBEY was used as the soundtrack to the new season of VIVA LA BAM , JackAss alumni Bam Margera's reality show on MTV. Scott Reeder's teaching ability parallels his passion for drums. Not only is he a heavy hitter in the world of rock, but he is also in high demand for teaching around the Orange County area.
